Christian Popoola Jr.’s accomplishment for the Pan African Team was recognized at the end of the 2015 Nike Global Challenge as he was named to the All Tournament Team.
The 6’3 Lone Peak High School point guard averaged 18.7 points while playing 27:40 minutes in three games. He poured in 25 points in the game against China to earn Team Pan Africa its only win in the tournament. He also had a team high 23 points in the 105 – 82 loss against USA East.
Ike Obiagu, another Nigerian on the Pan African Team, also recorded was also recognized for his feat in the paint. The 7 feet Obiagu registered a total 13 blocks and 13 rebounds in the three games he played at the Nike Global Challenge.
Popoola Jr. and Obiagu were two of the eight Nigerians on the eleven-man Pan African Team that participated at the 2015 Nike Global Challenge held at Whitney Young High School Chicago, Illinois from July 15 to 18.
