No one knows for sure if Jimmy Butler was attempting to ‘shoot his shot’ when he left two seemingly-innocuous words under Gabrielle Union’s photo on Instagram, but the comment “WELL DAMN!!”, escalated shortly after.
Butler’s former teammate on the Chicago Bulls and Union’s husband, Dwyane Wade, left a one-word comment on his wife’s photo, “Mine”, which seemed an attempt to mark his territory. Noticing Butler’s salacious comment on Union’s photo, Wade left a clear message on a post on Butler’s Instagram, warning him to steer clear of his territory:
“Put well damn in caps on my wife photo again and you’re gonna see what the good, the bad and the ugly is like.”
Butler acknowledged Wade’s warning to not covet his property in his response:
“Well that escalated quickly. Point noted.”
If Vegas doesn’t put odds on whether Wade and Butler fight next season why do sports books even exist pic.twitter.com/N4EHqb6zGn

Wade and Butler played together on the Bulls in the 2016-17 season, though both play for different teams now – Butler for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Wade, presently a free agent but hoping to resign with the Miami Heat, the team he last played for.
